Abbeyfeale on the banks of the river Feale, a small town, is situated almost on the Kerry border, and is said to be Limerick's gateway to Tralee, Killarney and the Dingle Peninsula.

Abbeyfeale is a town noted for Irish music, dance and song. The town has a variety of traditional pubs, some fine restaurants and even a nightclub. Abbeyfeale hosts an excellent 9-hole golf course, equestrian centre, great shopping and excellent accommodation facilities in Leens Hotel.

Visitor attractions include Crag Cave. Discovered in 1983 and thought to be over one million years old Crag Cave is a magical wonderland of stalagmites and stalactites. It is an all weather visitor attraction located on the Abbeyfeale side of Castleisland.

For walkers the Great Southern Trail is a unique 53 mile stretch of countryside in West Limerick / North Kerry passing via Abbeyfeale. It is the route taken by the Limerick - Tralee railway line, which opened in 1867 / 1880 and closed in 1975 / 1977. It allows visitors to the area to explore this beautiful region in a safe, leisurely way by foot or bicycle.

Abbeyfeale Golf Club is a beautiful 9 hole parkland golf course set in the scenic West Limerick countryside. The course, which opened in 1992, was designed by the renowned golf course architect Dr. Arthur Spring and is suitable for golfers of all levels.
